Bah bah black sheep; I’m reminded of this nursery rhyme a lot around here. We are sheep and Jesus is our shepherd. He makes us lie in green pastures and takes us to still waters. But once we were the kind of sheep who didn’t listen to the shepherd’s voice. We strayed and got lost and He came and found us. There are many black sheep around here lost. Bah bah.

Bah is a word Thai’s use when it’s time to go; they bah bah you until you follow. Ironic that their bah is to come and they are lost sheep! So now I’ll take their bah’s as a cry for help from a lost sheep and show them the way to the Shepherd. And He can wash them white as snow, and they will know His voice and follow.

ป๊ะ ป๊ะ แกะดำ ที่นี่ทำให้ฉันนึกถึงตอนเป็นเด็กที่เคยได้ยินเสียงคล้ายแบบนี้บ่อยๆ เราเป็นแกะและพระเยซูเป็นผู้เลี้ยง พระองค์ให้เรานอนลงที่ทุ่งหญ้าเขียวสดและนำเราไปที่แม่น้ำแดนสงบ แต่ถ้าเราเป็นแกะประเภทไม่ฟังผู้เลี้ยง เราก็จะหลงหายและพระองค์จะแสวงหาเรา มีแกะดำหลงหายมากมายที่นี่ ป๊ะ ป๊ะ

“ป๊ะ” ในภาษาไทยจะใช้คำนี้เรียกเพื่อนเพื่อเวลาจะไป เขาจะพูด ป๊ะ ป๊ะ จนกว่าจะมา น่าประหลาดใจที่เสียงป๊ะ ป๊ะ คล้ายเสียงแกะที่หลงหายจากฝูง ฉันจะใช้เสียง “ป๊ะ” ร้องเพื่อขอความช่วยเหลือของแกะที่หลงหายและนำพวกเขาไปหาพระผู้เลี้ยง และพระองค์จะชำระเขาให้ขาวเหมือนหิมะและพวกเขาจะรู้จักแล้วก็ติดตามเสียงของพระองค์

Work day on the Hillside farm property is torture right now. Cutting down acres of land with a machete. This isn’t here a tree there a tree wee either. This is thick bush sprinkled with thorn bushes and big biting red ants. These ants, by the way, never give up until you squish their last breath out. First it’s painful and then days later, so you won’t forget, they itch terribly! These do not just like me, like mosquitoes, they hate us all; Thai and falang. And these devil thorns get you caught up in a puppet like torcher chamber ouch! I guess it’s like giving birth, it’s painful and you want it over with but when it’s done it’s worth it? I’m still at the get it out stage.

What have made it worth it now though are the workers we have hired to help us. The first day it was all of Angel’s brothers’ workers; who help him on his part of the farm. All hard workers indeed! But the second and third group we have picked ourselves- this is where: do you know who you’re working with comes in. According to some they are the drunks, the thieves, the weak, the lazy and the crazy; Jesus’ kind of people. The ones no one else wants around, no one else trusts. They are the best of all, they appreciate our confidence in them, they make our farm possible, and they make it all worth it! Thank you.

ตอนนี้เป็นช่วงที่เราทำงานบนที่ดินในไร่เนินเขา ทรมานม๊ากกกกกกก ตัด ถางหญ้าด้วยมีดอีโต้ มันไม่ใช่ตัดต้นไม้ต้นนั้นที ต้นนี้ที แต่มันเป็นป่ารกมาก ต้นไม้หนามและยังมีมดตัวยักษ์กัดไม่ยอมปล่อยจนกว่าจะบี้ให้ตายคามือ โอ้ววว สุดยอด! ตอนที่มันกัดก็เจ็บพออยู่แล้ว มันยังมาเป็นรังแล้ววันรุ่งขึ้นยังไม่หายคันเลย มันไม่เหมือนยุงนะที่ชอบแต่ฝรั่ง มดนี่กัดหมดไทย,เทศน์ ไม่เลือกหน้า 555 แล้วต้นไม้หนามซาตานมันเกี่ยวไม่ยอมปล่อย เจ็บมาก น่าจะเจ็บเหมือนเวลาคลอดลูก เจ็บแบบอยากจะให้มันผ่านไปเร็วๆ แต่พอเสร็จมันก็คุ้มค่า เหมือนกันฉันก็อยากให้งานเสร็จเร็วๆ

rสิ่งที่ทำให้มันคุ้มค่าที่สุดคือ คนงานที่เราจ้างมาช่วย วันแรกเป็นคนงานที่ทำงานในไร่รายวันให้พี่เขยแองเจิ้ล ทุกคนขยันจริงๆ แต่วันที่สองและสาม เราหาคนงานเอง นี่แหละเป็นที่มาของคำถามว่า คุณทำงานกับใคร? ซึ่งคนงานที่เราหามาได้บางคนเขาหาว่าเป็นขี้เมา ขี้ขโมย ขี้เกียจ ผีบ้า และอ่อนแอ คนที่พระเยซูใช้ คือคนที่ไม่มีใครต้องการ ไม่มีใครไว้ใจ พวกเขาเป็นคนงานที่ดีที่สุด พวกเขาปลื้มปิติที่เรามั่นใจในพวกเขา พวกเขาทำให้มันเป็นไปได้และมีคุณค่า! ขอบคุณจริงๆ
