It’s truly
amazing how God works things together for his own good! Angel and I have lived
here for a 1 ½ now and to this day do not have a house, running water, or
electric. But that is all about to change quickly I think. First off in January
we took some of our kids ages 11-12 to a conference in Pattaya, more on that
later. While we were there Angel did her usual mingling and came upon a couple
who will live here for a year and who have building experience. They offered to
help along with an American we already knew and as of now are putting a team
together to at least build one room of the house so that we will have a stable
place to live come this next rainy season. Angel gave them an estimate of the
price for that room and they have already collected the money for it, WOW.
We’ve waited for funding for a while now and nothing, but with God’s timing
comes God’s provisions. Amen.
I’ve always
felt that we should have water and solar power set up before the house so they
can be ready to be placed right away. We’ve prayed and asked for this a year
and a half; and until a few weeks ago nothing. But Angel in her mingling ways
has made good relations with a local mayor. He has agreed to budget to us
90,000baht ($3000) for solar power and a submersion pump for a well. And this how now been installed. More to come on that.
One last thing, the well. Most wells in this
area are powered by tek teks an old timie tractor. You have to attach a belt
from the tek tek to the well pump; which is located inside the deep well, and
crank it to get your water. We do not have a tek tek of our own and do not wish
to crank every time we need water! So the submersion pump attached to solar
power is more our speed. J How ever the mayor said I’ll wait to assemble the solar
until you get the well dug. Oh no will we lose our money if this takes too
long? That is some team member’s thoughts, but no worries God to the rescue. A
few days ago we heard from an American couple who recently came in January and
who also, “by chance” were at this same conference in Pattaya. They contacted
Angel and told her of a death in the family, a mother Elizabeth. And their
family would like to donate money towards the well in her remembrance and
“could they bring a plaque the next time they visit with her name?”
Well of
course our well can be called Elizabeth’s well. I’d like to also note that the
night before I was reading verses about Jesus talking to the Samaritan woman at
Jacob’s well. J Coincidence I think not!! And Elizabeth was John the
Baptists mother and he baptized people in water, and prepared the way for
Jesus. This well water is preparing the way for more to come the next start to
this project. Thank you Mcleary family. God bless you.
